The E.J. Henderson Celebrity Bass Challenge | June 25-26, 2008 Lake Waconia - Waconia, MN

About The Tournament

A-List Celebs Dropping in on Twin Cities’ Fishing Hole

Twin Cities,MN - Plans are underway for Minnesota's largest celebrity charity fishing tournament ever! Minnesota Vikings Linebacker E.J. Henderson is teaming up with Pro-Angler John Laub and Team Laub to create this star-studded event, benefiting the E.J. Henderson Youth Foundation (EJHYF). E.J. Henderson created The EJHYF to support schools lacking efficient and effective academic and physical programs. Without the funding for these programs, many urban students are at greater risk of falling behind.

E.J. Henderson has a true passion for ensuring local youth have the best opportunity to nurture both their physical and academic development. He believes supportive guidance, mentoring and proper physical training contribute to the physical, mental and emotional well-being of youth. Henderson is committed to developing The EJHYF into not only a groundbreaking, but lasting community program through the following initiatives:

Urban Youth Outreach Program unites youth from various social and economic backgrounds for an after school program focused on social skills, career preparation and physical fitness.

The Sharper Youth Foundation Education and Technology Lab exposes students to computer-based reading, math and writing in a state-of-the-art laboratory and was created in cooperation with Darren Sharper's foundation.

The Henderson-Sharper Life Skills Lounge is a safe and positive place for youth to unwind after a long day of school. The lounge also features electronic devices for media mentoring, a current-events forum where students can discuss news of the day and its relevance with instructors and peers.
